Adding spaces - Revit MEP Tutorial
From the course: Revit: Fire-Alarm Systems Design
Adding spaces
It's good to know where you are. Unlike AutoCAD we can't see the actual room names that the architect has added to their model. It's on you to figure out which rooms are where. Just because they're invisible to you that doesn't mean we can't find them and tag them though. Once we do that our space tags will update if the architect changes a room name and the next time we sync with Central, reload the architectural model or open a new model. In Revit, we'll go to Open, browse to where you are keeping your Exercise Files. I'm going to grab my 'Spaces' model and hit 'Open'. Let's go to 'Fire Alarm Floor Plan Level 1'. Let's zoom in on this area over here. I'd like to add a space. Go to the 'Analyze' tab and now click the 'Space' button. We'll put a space right here. Hit escape a couple of times. Now notice that when we hover over this area here, a little 'x' shows up behind us. Select that 'x' and here are the properties for the space. So if we scroll down, there's no air flow yet…
