Incorporating ceiling-mounted devices - Revit MEP Tutorial
From the course: Revit: Fire-Alarm Systems Design
Incorporating ceiling-mounted devices
- [Instructor] Ceilings are our friends. Since we've been sticking devices to our walls, we can just as easily stick devices to the ceilings. I'd like to go through a bunch of rooms and start adding devices to ceilings for sure. Another thing I'd like to do is go back and check out how these rooms are starting to look by taking a 3D perspective. To get started, we will jump into Revit, we'll go to Projects, and then Open. Browse to where you're keeping your exercise files. And I am going to open my ceiling exercise file. Now I will load some more families. Go to Insert, go to Load Family, browse back to your Fire Alarm directory. If Revit did not default back to that directory, we're simply gonna go to Electrical, MEP, Information and Communication, Fire Alarm. So now we're in here, I just want to maybe widen this a little bit. So we will scroll down and we'll grab Fire Alarm Horn - Ceiling Mounted, hold down the Control key, grab Fire Alarm Horn Strobe - Ceiling Mounted, maybe I'll…
