- This is all pretty easy from here. We can place an area load a few different ways. One is to be physically hosted to an element. The other is to sketch the area load. In this video, I'd like to place a hosted area load. So jump into the model you've been working in. We can either be in an Analytical Model or we can be in a Physical Model. Both are basically the same thing, just with their visibility graphics different. If we want to zoom in here, we can now see our boundary conditions in 3D. So, I'm going to go to Analytical Model because it just makes it all easier for me. On the Analyze tab go to the Analytical Model panel, click on Loads. Now notice our forces. We can change them right here. If we have FZ 1, if it's a negative value it's going to be coming down. If it's a positive value it's going to look at it as an uplift.
