Adding a plate and bolts

- [Instructor] No more in place families for this. Let's add a plate and bolt it down. By simply adding a freehand sketch, we can now add a plate without having to be a Revit genius. Also, we can space bolts any way we like. So in Revit, under models, let's go to new. Select our Metric Structural Template. Click okay. In the level two structural plan, let's select our detail level. Let's go with a fine. On the structure tab, let's go to beam. Draw beam, I don't know, this long. Not very long. Hit escape a couple times. Okay, now let's go to the steel tab. Let's click on plate. All we can do here is select the outline of the plate. So on the draw panel, click the rectangle button. I'm going to pick this midpoint here. I'll come down and pick this midpoint here. Click finish. Perfect. Now with our plate still selected, let's change our structural material.
