Creating a new material
- [Instructor] The library contains lots of pre-made materials, but sometimes you just want to create your own. In this video, I'll just show you a really simple example of creating our own custom material and we're going to build it completely from scratch. Let's go to the manage tab, and click the materials button and then here in the material dialogue, to create a brand new material, we will use the drop down at the bottom of the window here, this little ball icon, and then choose create new material. It will give it a name of default new material, which is not terribly descriptive, so I'm going to rename that exterior paint. Now, the reason I'm calling it that is I'm going to use it to paint some of the details on this window frame and I'm calling it exterior paint rather than window paint, because I might use it somewhere else as well.
