Physically based rendering (PBR) materials
- In this video, I want to spend some time in the appearance tab of the materials dialogue and talk about the two different kinds of shaders that we have available for rendering purposes. I want to focus particularly on the newer style, the so-called physically based render materials or PBR materials. PBR materials are used by rendering and game engines to produce high quality rendered results. So these have been added to Revit in the last few releases and wherever possible if you have access to a PBR material for the objects that you're creating, you should probably probably consider using it because you'll get a much higher quality rendering. Let's go ahead and go to the manage tab here, click the materials button and take a look at how to first identify when you have a PBR material. This is actually very easy to do because if the material is not using a PBR material, then it will have this little yellow triangle…
