- [Instructor] What I'd like to do now is start adding our perimeter beams. These will be the main beams that go around the perimeter of our model and go from column to column. Let's jump into structure 20, I'm going to go open, browse through chapter four, structure 20. Let's go up to level two. Set your detail level to coarse. Zoom into this area here. Let's start modeling some beams. Go to the structure tab. Let's click on the structural beam button. Make sure tag on placement is selected. Make sure chain is selected. For the beam I want, let's click the drop down. Let's start going with 14 by 30s. This is going to be simple. All we need to do is click this midpoint, this midpoint, and it puts the beam in. Hit escape, there it is. Let's click here to here, hit escape once, now for the smaller ones, we can get away with an eight by 10. Hit escape once, punch back up to a 14 by 30.
