Understanding light fixture families

- So now that we've placed our lighting fixtures in the scene, I want to spend a little time talking about the lighting fixture families themselves. So again, one of the unique aspects of lighting fixtures in Revit is that they serve multiple purposes. So if you need to place lights in your project model for the purposes of documentation, for a lighting layout, for tagging, for scheduling, for reporting, for counting, you can do all of those things with the same light fixture families. And of course you can use them for rendering because the light fixtures contain the lighting information. So let's take a look at specifically that feature of our light families here. And to do that, we can just simply edit one of the existing families that we already have here in the model. So I'm going to use this wall-mounted light fixture that we have over here and I'll select it, and then I'll click the edit family button. So this takes…
