Adding C shapes to stringers

- [Voiceover] OK, let's add some stairs here. The problem is we have different heights for our stories going up, but that's OK. A lot of times when you do stairs, you can do multistory stairs or you can do one set of stairs and then a multistory set. We're gonna have to do that. So what I want to do is go down to Level 2 under Structural Plans. Now, I'm gonna zoom in over here and our stairs are gonna basically go between these two columns. So on the Architecture tab, I wanna click on the Stair button. Let's click on Railing first and for the railing let's just go None. Let the architect deal with that. Let's hit OK. Now my Base Level, I want this to be Level 1. My Top Level, I want this to go up to Level 2. Now what I want to do is my Location Line. Click the drop-down here. Let's select Exterior Support Left. I'm gonna come right here and I'm gonna click on this intersection. I'm gonna start drawing my stairs out, but notice where you see the count. It says 9 Risers Created, 8 Remaining. Let's make it so it says that. So if you move your cursor to the right, you'll see 9 Risers Created, 8 Remaining. Once you see that, go ahead and pick a spot right here. Now go straight up from the endpoint of that stair. Keep going, keep going, until you hit this grid line. Now pick this. Now come straight back with your stairs, but you can actually extend it further if you want. So click all the way back into here. Now hit Esc a couple times. This is it. Click on Finish Edit Mode. And there we have it. Now, we need to just move these stairs in a little bit. So I'm gonna select my staircase and I'm gonna click on the Move button. I'm gonna pick this endpoint and I'm gonna move it straight into this slab right here. I'm gonna hit Esc a couple times. I'm gonna go to a 3D View. Whoops, we can't see our stairs. That's OK we know how to turn them on, right? If we type v + g for visibility graphics, scroll down to Stairs, and let's turn them on. Click Apply. Let's click OK. Now what I wanna do is go back to our Level 2 floor plan. Our top stairs are gonna be slightly different, but that's fine. I'm gonna select this staircase. I'm gonna right click. Now I'm gonna Create Similar. I'm gonna create my Run. So I'm gonna do the same exact thing that I did here, but my Base Level is Level 2, my Top Level is Level 3, and my Multistory Top Level wants to go all the way up to Level 5. We're gonna hit Apply. I'm gonna come in here. I'm gonna select this intersection. Now I'm gonna let this go out to 9 Risers Created, 9 Remaining. I'm gonna pick this point right here. I'm gonna come all the way out to this grid line. Pick here. I'm gonna return it back to this column. Hit Esc a couple times. Click on Finish Edit Mode. We've got it. Now let's go to a 3D View. And we've got our stairs going all the way up to the top. Sometimes you just have to do this little trick to get stairs to work.
