- In this video, we're going to play some columns and we're going to use our column grid to help us do that. Now, revit gives us two types of columns to choose from. So here on the architecture tab, here's our dropdown menu and you've got either structural or architectural columns. Now I'm actually going to place both with you because I think both are valuable, but I'm going to start with the architectural column. There will be a few different sizes available over here on the type selector. So I want you to choose the largest size that you have available. So in the Imperial file that's going to be 24 inches square. And in the metric file that's going to be 610 millimeters square. So now when it comes time to place these, you can just place them anywhere you like or notice that it will automatically sense where the grids are if you get nearby and you can snap directly to the grids.
