- [Instructor] In this video, I want to show you some of the opening elements. Now an opening element is like a negative object that actually cuts away at the geometry of your model elements. So, there are several of them on the Architecture tab, here on the Opening panel. Now in this video, we're going to look at two of them, the shaft opening and the dormer opening, and I welcome you to explore the other three, on your own, later. Let's talk about the shaft opening first. And I've got a real obvious use for it, right here. This is an elevator that is going through this three-story building. And as you could see, that elevator's being interrupted by the floor slabs on the first floor and on the second floor. So it would make it a little difficult for that elevator to travel between floors. Now one possible solution would be to just modify the floor sketch. And we can certainly do that.
