- [Instructor] Okay Chapter one is over. I had to do that just to get the fundamentals out of the way. So here's where it's at. Parameters. I've come to find out that a lot of the time when you meet a parameter Revit just doesn't give us out of the box. This is where Project Parameters come in handy. So to explain we're going to create a new parameter. Once that parameter's created we're going to put it in a specific category such as structural foundations. Now, when we select a foundation voila our new parameter is there. Now we can turn around and create a schedule using our little homemade parameter. Like I mentioned, I'm going to pick on structural foundations. So under Projects I'm going to go to Open. Browse to where I'm keeping my exercise files and find my structural model. Of course, you can grab any model you want. Let's click Open. There are a couple different ways to do this but I'm going to show you one way now then I'll show you another way later.
