Applied generative design for architecture and engineering

- [Jeremy] Generative design is a design process that involves iteratively generating and evaluating potential design solutions based on constraints and goals that we set as the designer. This approach provides methods to automate and optimize our designs, offering a larger landscape of possible design solutions that we may not find otherwise. While these methods are being used in design for some time, it has recently become available to more designers through tools such as Grasshopper, Dynamo, and now Revit. My name is Jeremy Graham, and I'm an architect specializing in computational design. In this course, we will start by learn about what generative design is, and how it is used to optimize design solutions. We will then jump into Revit to explore the new generative design tools available with Revit 2021 by creating and running generative design studies. In the second half of the course, we'll jump a bit deeper into how generative design studies are developed from within Dynamo. Learning about what tools are available, and how to build efficient generative design scripts for others to use. At the end of this course, you will have a strong understanding of how generative design works in Revit 2021, as well as how to develop powerful generative design scripts in Dynamo that anyone can use in Revit. So let's go ahead and get started.
