- [Instructor] There are reasons for multiple BIM execution types. What is needed for each phase is unique. It should be understood that the architect's BIM execution plan is not a replica of the contractor's BIM execution plan. If you take a step back and look at the project process from conception to occupancy, there is one moment that is technically more complex than any other part and that is during pre-construction when the contractor has initiated three-dimensional coordination and clash detection. At that point in time, the contractor is working with the architects and engineers' models but is also beginning to incorporate the modeling from their subcontractors. Choreographing this process requires a diligent organizational process from the contractor and many contractors use the BIM execution plan document to do this organization.
