Assigning materials

- [Instructor] To add materials to our cabinetry, we first need to select on one of the modeled objects, such as this big rectangular shape which makes up the outside of our cabinetry. Next, underneath the properties, we need to find the materials for that object that we have selected, and right now it's assigned to by category. Instead of by category, I want to assign a specific material to this kind of object. So click where it has by category, and then make sure to select on this box, with the three little dots in it over on the right hand side. This opens up the material browser, and you'll find that most Revit families have very few materials already inside of them, so it's very likely that you'll need to add your own materials, in order to be able to assign that material to that Revit family. To add your own materials, you select on the circular shape, down towards the bottom of the screen with the little blue plus sign. Then click create new material. For the name of this…
