The BIM Overlay to the RIBA Outline Plan of Work

- [Narrator] In previous videos in this chapter, I did refer to what they call BIM Level two. Now, this is all relating to what they call the BIM Overlay to the RIBA Outline Plan of Work. RIBA is the Royal Institute of British Architects and in the same way you have the American Institute of Architects, AIA over in the United States. Now if we look at this BIM Overlay, you can see Level two sitting there in the middle with the red line to the right of it. So we're moving into building information modeling. CAD at a 2D Level is Level zero. Level one is where you start utilizing 2D and 3D CAD. Level two is where you start moving into building information systems. Such as building information modeling, using Revit, using industrialized construction. And then as you move further up the graph there you get to Level three where you're looking at things like asset life cycle management, data management, process management.…
