Clash detection

- [Instructor] Clash detection is part of the BIM coordination process. The design teams will model their objects in 3D, then the model from one design team will be what's called clashed against the model from another design team to see if the objects that they've constructed in their 3D model hit each other before they actually hit each other being built out in the field. By detecting these clashes before they're built, it saves money in the long term. So when running these clash detections, we need to first ask ourself who's going to run the clash detection? Will it be both design teams running the clash detection against each others models? Or will there be another person running that clash detection and then reporting that information back to the design teams? Also we need to discuss how often will the clash detection occur? Is clash detection always ongoing? Does it need to happen once a day, every other day, twice a week, once a week? Basically we need to decide how often that…
