Conceptual design
- [Instructor] During the conceptual design phase, or stage, some individuals will say that you don't really need to use BIM at all. Other individuals will say, yes, you absolutely should be using BIM, even during conceptual design. So for the BIM Execution Plan, we need to ask ourselves the question, does BIM need to be used at this stage? One example of using BIM during this stage would be to input in all of your room information, for all the required rooms, then input in the relationships between each of these rooms. With the hit of a button, you may be able to then generate relationships between each of the rooms and then a variety of different floor plans based off of those physical relationships that were entered into a database, or your different software programs, to generate a variety of conceptual design options, which can then be tweaked, and then bring that information in to the schematic design phase.
