Constraining with dimensions
- [Instructor] Dimensions play an important role in the creation of a good, flexible family. Without reference planes and dimensions in the family, I have absolutely no control over anything other than the current size and shape of the family. Dimensions also play an important role in locking down portions of your family you want to stay constant, and also control what control line your family will be centered upon. By adding some reference planes, I'd like to go ahead and add some dimensions in this video. So in Revit, under Families, let's go to New, scroll down till you find Generic Model, click Open. Now very similar to the last video, we're going to create some additional reference planes. So right click on this horizontal reference plane, and go to Create Similar. On the Draw panel, click pick lines and for an Offset let's go one foot, you can just type in a one. Offset up, Offset down. Now with the Reference…
