Create a wall protection family: Setup
- [Educator] This is a Revit family that I've started from a typical family template. I'm going to use this to model WallProtectionFamily that I can place with Dynamo. I'll add a few parameters to make this family parametric, and add Yes or No parameters for making different family types. When I start a new family, I try to add all of the family parameters that I'll need. I usually try to think through all of the parameters I'm going to need to save myself time bouncing between the Family Types menu and the actual model geometry. I'm going to start by adding a Length parameter called Offset From End. I'll use this parameter to determine how far from the end the wall protection sits. Often, when I'm on a wall protection, I draw the protection from corner to corner along the wall, but in reality, I only want the protection to go six inches from each end. I'm going to store the new parameter under the Dimensions category. I'm going to add another Length parameter called MountingHeight…
