Creating a 3D receptacle
- [Instructor] Okay, let's make a receptacle. I know Autodesk has a ton of these available but I think this is the perfect family to use as practice because it has all the components that you're going to need for pretty much everything you do. So under families, let's go new. Let's scroll down till we find generic model face based. It's important that you use the face based. Let's click open. Okay, now the first thing I want to do is I want to go to my family category and parameters button right here. Let's make sure we create electrical fixtures. In the parameters down here, let's make sure we maintain annotation orientation or else the text goes upside down. Click OK, perfect. Now what I want to do is I want to right click on this reference plane here and I want to create similar. On the draw panel, click the pick lines button. For the offset, let's go one and 3/8 of an inch. One space, 3/8 inches. Cool. That's…
