- [Instructor] Next up is an electrical appliance. What I'd like to do here is make a face-paced electrical component. Then I want to accentuate it by using simple detail lines. And of course some plans symbology. So in Revit under 'families', let's go 'new'. Let's scroll down to we find generic model, face based generic model face based and click open. Now I want this to be on a wall. It's a funny thing with face-based families. If you notice right now we're in floor plan ref level. We're actually looking at the elevation here. We need to consider this the elevation. Although in this family, we're looking down at it. Once we load this into a project this is going to be considered the wall, right? So we're looking at the elevation. That being said, let's make some reference plans. I'm going to right click on this reference plan. And I'm going to create similar.
