Creating custom decking
- [Narrator] Revit comes pre-loaded with several different decking configurations. Of course, that's not enough. Let's make a family, shall we? It's a pretty easy one, but very functional to say the least. I'd like to configure a simple profile, load it into our model, and apply it to our floor slab as a decking shape. To get started, let's jump into Revit. Under Families, let's go New. I want to scroll down until I find Profile. I'm going to select it, and I'm going to click Open. Now, notice that we have two reference planes to begin with. I'm going to offset this one to the right. Then I'm going to offset this one up. So to do that, I want to right click on this vertical reference plane, and I want to Create Similar. On the Draw Panel, click the Pick Lines button. Give it a four-inch offset. We simply just click into the Offset dialog and type in four inches. Offset it to the right. Now, for my offset, I'm going to type in one point five inches and hit Enter. Offset this reference…
