Creating a detail callout
- [Instructor] In this and the next couple videos, we're going to put together a construction detail. Now we're going to use our model to help us do that. So we're going to be creating what I like to call a hybrid detail. A hybrid detail is a detail that includes some geometry from the live model, and then some two dimensional geometry that's been added on top as view specific drafting. There are some folks who wonder why bother with the drafting at all. They argue that we're building information modeling and so everything should be in the model. Well, I would like to offer a counter argument to that. While it would theoretically be possible for us to model everything, that is contained in our building, things like smaller elements, bolts and screws and fasteners and caulking and mortar joints. Things like that don't really offer much benefit when modeled, and would only take up an enormous amount of time and effort…
