Creating a detail callout
- [Narrator] In this and the next few videos we're going to talk about the detailing process in Revit. Details are and intrical part of any architectural documentation package. However, one of the challenges with working in the building information paradigm is that there's often this temptation to over model everything. In other words, it's theoretically possible to add items like flashing, fasteners, bolts and screws directly to your model. However, typically such items only need to be shown in large-scale views and in smaller views they actually get in the way. So we want to resist the temptation to model such elements. Furthermore, there's actually little payoff to model them and you often pay a high price in diminished computer performance when you choose to do so. So for such items we want to continue to rely on traditional detailed drawings.
