Creating extrusions
- [Instructor] Now with the reference planes, dimensions and parameters out of the way, it's time to make our first 3D shape, a simple extrusion. So to get started in Revit, under families, let's go open. Browse where you're keeping your exercise files, go to chapter one (indistinct) the grab 01, underscore eight and underscore extrusions and click open. Perfect. So I wouldn't even attempt to do this without parameters on dimensions and of course reference planes. So we see in plane, we have our parameters and our dimensions. In the project browser, if we go to our front elevation, we'll see that we have reference planes here, and we have a dimension. Let's go down to our Ref Level floor plan and to create tab, let's click extrusion. Now for the most important thing, let's click on the lock button right here. I'm not worried about the depth or the offset or anything like that, I just want to select my reference…
