Creating groups
- [Instructor] In this video I want to talk about creating and using groups. Now groups are collections of elements within your model that you've gathered together into a single unit and given a name. The purpose of a group is that you can place several instances throughout a project and then if you change any one of those instances the changes will be reflected in all instances throughout the project. So it becomes a great way to manage any repetitive design element within a project. So, for the example we have here on screen, I have this two bedroom condominium unit and if I wanted to repeat this apartment unit several places throughout the building, by grouping it first, I maintain the ability to be able to make changes to just one instance and to see those changes propagated to all instances of the two bedroom unit. So it just becomes an easier way to manage that design condition. So let's go ahead and create a group from the geometry we have here on screen, and then we'll talk…
