Creating a light switch
- So when we hear the term over modeling, light switches come to mind. You really need the model to switch itself. What I'd like to do in this video is create a light switch and it's going to look like a light switch, but we're not going to over model it. So to get started, in Revit under families, let's go New. Of course, I'm going to go to generic model face based. I'm going to click open. And let's go with our reference planes and parameters. Right click on this reference plane and create similar. In the draw panel, click pick lines. Let's offset 1.5 inches. I'll go to the left, to the right. Let's offset 2.25 inches. Going to go up and then down. Hit escape a couple times. On the measure panel let's click the dropdown and click aligned dimension. Going to go from here to here to here. Pick a point off of that. Let's click on EQ. Put a dimension here to here.
