Creating a pendant lighting fixture
- [Instructor] Pendants can be tricky. I'd like to model a pendant light. The trick here is going to be the legs. I'd like to put in some variables to make it so we can pick a button to make the legs have different extension, in case the ceiling or structure they're modeled to is uneven or sloped. Okay. To get started, let's go Families, let's go to New. Scroll down until you find Generic Model. Click Open. Let's go to Family, Category and Parameters. Let's make this a lighting fixture. I'll turn on Light Source, and I'll turn on Room Calculation Point later. Click Okay. Let's right click on this reference plane and Create Similar. On the draw panel, let's click on Pick Lines. For the offset, let's go two feet, with to the left ones, to the right ones. Now for the offset, let's go one foot. I'm going to go up and then I'm going to go down, hit escape a few times.
