- [Instructor] I want to make one of those little, squiggly pipe breaks, but I want to make it actually work. So to get started, let's go to Families. Let's go to New. Let's scroll down till we find Detail Item. Let's click Open. Zoom into here. Let's create some reference planes. I'm going to right-click on this reference plane and Create Similar. In the Draw panel, let's click on Pick Lines. Get an offset of 1 inch. Over here, here. Over here, here. Give an offset of 2 inches. Let's go straight up like that. Let's dimension these like we always do. Put in these two dimensions. Let's click EQ. Put in these two dimensions. Let's click EQ. Dimension from here to here. Select our 2 inch dimension. Let's create a parameter. We'll call it width. This definitely wants to be an Instance parameter, and you'll see why once we load it into a model. Click Okay. Skip a couple of times.
