Creating a recessed 2x4 lighting fixture
- [Instructor] Okay, let's make some lights, shall we? The first type of lighting fixture I'd like to create is the easy one. It's going to be a face-based, fully parametric, two by four, recessed, commercial light. So, to get started, let's jump into Revit. Under Families, let's go to New. Let's browse down 'til we find Generic Model Face Based. Let's click Open. Okay, normally the first thing I do is change the family type and category, but what that's going to do in this case it's going to add a big, yellow light source which kind of gets in the way of modeling. So, I'm going to do that step last, actually, for this lighting fixture. Another thing I'm going to do different is I want this to be the upper left-hand corner. It just makes it a lot easier to place these items into a grid. So, I'm going to right click on this reference plane and I'm going to Create Similar. My Draw panel, I'm going to click Pick Lines.…
