- [Instructor] A pretty common question that comes up is when working with rooms in Revit, how does Revit decide what the area of the room element is? So there is a setting that controls this. It's very easy for us to look at and potentially change, and the default behavior is for it to use the faces of the walls to determine those boundaries. So as you can see here, I have a room selected and it is very clearly measuring that room to the inside faces of the all of the surrounding wall geometry. Now what if that's not what you want? Well, it is possible for us to change that. So what I'm going to do first is, before showing you how to change it, I'm actually in a floor plan called Level 1 Room Display, and this is just a duplicate of my level one floor plan. And what I want to do in here is go to Visibility/Graphics or VG, scroll down, locate the Rooms category, expand it, and there are three subcategories, Color Fill…
