Displace elements

- [Instructor] In 2014 Revit added a new feature called the displace element tool. In this video we'll take an in-depth look at how to use the displace elements tools to relocate elements in our view and explore how it interacts with the different family types of Revit. We'll look at how to use the path feature of this tool to indicate where the items have moved from and how to reset and update the displaced items. Open the 03_05 exercise file. If you check your project browser you should be in the 3D View, 03_05 Displaced Elements. Often in drawings we show evenly spaced seating layouts, however, items that are not fixed to the floor are often moved by people in reality. The displace elements tools will allow us to move a bench in our current view without affecting the rest of the documentation. If I select the bench, to displace the element I can go to the Modify tab and on the view panel I can select the icon that looks like an exploded box. You'll notice that a blue, green and red…
