Establishing shared coordinates
- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to take some linked files that I have set up here and set up what's called a shared coordinate system. Now, a shared coordinates system, quite simply takes the coordinate system of one of the files and makes it predominate over all of the others. So, in this case I have three files, the office building is the host that I'm in, and then I have a linked site file right here and a linked shed building right here. And what I want to do is make all three of these projects use the same coordinate system. And the reason for doing that is it makes it much easier for us to cross reference these files to one another and make sure that they always continue to line up with each other correctly. So, to get started the first thing I need to decide is which of these three models do I want to be the dominant coordinate system.
