- [Instructor] In the BIM execution plan, we also need to specify how will the existing conditions be documented? This is important, because existing conditions can be either modeled three-dimensionally, they could be drawn just using line work, they could be documented just by using photographs. And I'm sure that there's a wide variety of other ways that existing conditions could be arranged. But as far as the BIM process is concerned, we always need to think in terms of what's the most efficient way to do this project? Part of that is understanding what needs to be modeled and what does not need to be modeled. Does the entire existing structure need to be modeled? Does only a part of the existing structure need to be modeled? Usually it's the part that's getting ready to be renovated. Or does none of the existing structure need to be modeled because the only thing that matters are the parts that are new?
