Exporting to AutoCAD

- [Narrator] Sometimes you need to share your file with an outside recipient who's not using Revit. So they may request that you export your file into a file format that their software can understand and perhaps the most popular is the AutoCAD DWG format. So, in this video, I'd like to look at the process of exporting Revit views to AutoCAD DWG. Now, to get started, you can actually export either a sheet or a view, or even several sheets and views. And what you do, is you go to the File menu here and go down to the Export item. When you hover over that, it will expand out into a submenu and then you've got lots of export choices available here. Well, at the very top, we have CAD Formats and we can export to DWG, DXF, DGN, and ACIS (SAT) files. Now, if you want to export to ACIS (SAT) files, you need to start in a 3D view, because that's a 3D solid file format. But all of these others, you can export 2D or 3D. So, I'm going to choose DWG and that will display the DWG Export dialogue…
