Immersive tech: When to use

- [Instructor] Let's talk about when to use immersive technology in your process. The short answer is early and often. Too many architects think they need to wait until the design is finished before making an immersive experience that they can show to clients. But what we find is that when they show a client their project in virtual reality for the first time late in the process, suddenly the client understands the project in a way that they never have before, and that's when they want to make changes. Let's start using this when we're still in schematic design. I have a few mantras I like to remember when applying immersive technology into your workflow. First, never draw what you can model in less than double the time. When I was an architect, I worked on projects where we would draw in details that we figured we didn't have time to model. And in those cases, every time a small change happened in the model, moving a wall a few inches, then suddenly a lot of work had to go into…
