Loading families
- [Instructor] So as you might expect, there's lots more we can add to our model other than just walls, doors and windows. So in this video, we're going to look at placing additional components. We're going to place some columns, some plumbing fixtures and even some furniture. And all of these things are collectively referred to in Revit as families. So think of a family as an individual item and then we organize those items into various categories. So we're going to start with the column category and it's got its own dedicated button. Let me just zoom in a little bit here near the top of the plan, for this first example. And then the button is here on the architecture tab and we're going to choose column, architectural. Now there already is an architectural column loaded in this project. You can see it right over here, it's the rectangular column.
