Material Browser overview

- [Instructor] Most Revit elements have the ability to have a material applied to them, given a realistic appearance or behavior. The appearance and behavior are two important characteristics. For some materials the appearance is extremely important and for other materials the behavior or physical properties are more important for analysis of strength, thermal, or acoustics. Because of these characteristics, the material browser can be a little confusing. In this video I'll give you a quick overview of how we will be working with materials to create materials through the rest of this chapter. Let's get started. To access the Materials browser, go to the Manage tab within Revit and select Materials. Material browsers primarily split between the left side which is dedicated toward searching and assigning materials and the right side which is dedicated towards editing the actual properties of the materials.
