Modeling a duct accessory (damper)

- Let's make a damper. I know that there's plenty of dampers out there. But it'd be nice to show you how they work and how you make when the fit any duct size. So, we'll jump into Revit. Under families, we'll go new. Now of course, I'm going to use generic model. Because it's my favorite. Generic model, click open. First thing we should do is go to family category and parameters. This is going to be a duct accessory. Let's scroll down a little bit where it says part type. Instead of attaches to, put the dropdown and we can literally select damper. It's very specific. Let's click okay. Okay, let's create some reference planes and parameters like we always do. Right click on this reference plane creates similar. In the drop panel click pick lines. For the offset, we'll just go one inch. Offset it to the left. Offset it to the right. Let's offset one that's one foot up and then down. Hit escape a few times.…
