Modeling a junction box
- [Instructor] Okay, let's make a junction box. What I'd like to do in this video is basically make the junction box 3D extrusion. Then we're going to make an annotation symbol with a J in it. Of course, we're going to test it in our model to make sure everything works. So let's get started by jumping into Revit. Under families, let's go to new. I'm always back and forth on if I want these face-based or not. Junction boxes sometimes are just sort of floating there, so I'm going to scroll down to generic model. I'm not going to make it face-based, just generic model. Click open. Now of course, the first thing I'm going to do is go to family category and parameters, and I want to make it electrical fixtures. I'm going to expand this a little bit. Scroll down. So part type, click the drop-down where it says normal. Let's make it a junction box. Let's maintain annotation orientation. Let's click okay. Now let's create…
