Neon signs
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll use the self illumination properties of the materials to create a material for a lighted neon sign. Let's get started. Open the 02_12 exercise file. In the Project Browser, you should be in the 3D View 02_12 Neon sign. I've placed model text on the wall that we can assign a material to, making the text appear as though it were a neon sign. Select the text. And in the Properties under Material, where it says By Category, select the three dots. In the Project Browser, we'll create a new material. If you right-click and rename the material Neon Red, now we can add an appearance to our material, giving it the glow and color of a neon sign. Under the Generic tab, for Color, I'm going to choose red. If I scroll down in the properties, I check box Self Illumination, indicating that this material will emit light and illuminate itself. I can choose a Filter Color, which adjusts the color of the light transmitted from our material. For that, I'm going to…
