Preparing a Civil 3D drawing
- If you just simply insert a civil 3D drawing into Revit without cleaning it up you run the risk of causing unnecessary issues such as the model being pushed past its extents. The objective of this video is to create a new civil 3D drawing by using the right block command in AutoCAD. In AutoCAD civil 3D. Let's go to open. I'm going to browse back to where I had my base site drawing and I'd like to click open. Ignore unresolved reference files if you get this dialogue. I'm going to zoom out a little bit so I can see everything. Now simply type in W and hit Enter. This is the W block command. Now we have our right block dialogue. For the base point, you can pick a point on your site or you can leave it at zero zero. If you leave it at zero zero it's fine those extents won't matter. For the objects, I want to select objects. I'm going to pick a window starting from the upper left. I'll grab all this stuff and resolve it…
