- [Instructor] This week I'm going to discuss the selection box tool. This is a really simply way to create cutaway 3D views. It essentially just involves making a selection and then you click the tool and it creates a axonometric view that's cropped down to whatever you had selected. So it's a really handy tool to just kind of do quick analysis of an area if you want to understand how something is coming together or if there's any conflicts or clashes or anything like that. It's just a really quick visual way to kind of analyze your model. Now there's other ways to do this of course. You can set this up manually, but this is probably the quickest way to create that kind of a view. It doesn't matter what file you open for this exercise.
