- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about perhaps one of the most important skills in Revit or any graphics program like it and that is selection. Nearly everything you do is going to start with the selection of elements on screen. So you really need to be good at being able to make those selections efficiently and quickly. So let's go ahead and walk through several of the most common ways to make selections in a Revit model. So I'm going to start by looking down at the status bar at the bottom of the screen and you'll see a message there where it says click to select, Tab for alternates, Control adds, and Shift unselect, so it's giving you little clues as to what the most basic ways to select are. All right, so let's start with click to select, it's actually two parts. Before you click, there's actually a pre highlight that happens.
