Tilt Brush

- [Instructor] While Blocks is a three dimensional massing tool, Tilt Brush is a sketching tool. Again, you have a paintbrush in your dominant hand and then your palette which includes tools, or if you swipe on your thumb pad, various brushes and your color palette. If you followed along with the Blocks lesson, you created a massing and exported it. Let's open that up, by going to the sub menu to the more options and selecting labs. You can put your controller on it and squeeze these side buttons to move the palette. Then select local media library and here are all the models that exist in this local library. So we can select a model to load it and then grab it with the trigger and squeeze these two side buttons on the controller to move it into the scene where we want it. By squeezing those buttons on both controllers, we can scale it and rotate it. If we hold down the thumb pad while we do that, then it will place it orthogonally in the scene when we let go. So now to start sketching on this, I'm going to choose the paper brush 'cause it'll show up better and then get the model to the size I want and just start drawing right onto the building. You can either sketch facade ideas onto the massing or even sketch in three dimensions, like putting in a canopy, for instance, to try out three dimensional elements that weren't part of the massing. By swiping the thumb pad, you can make the brush larger or smaller and if you want to undo something you've drawn, you can click left or redo, click right on your palette hand. Once you've gotten the elements you want sketched in and all of your ideas refined through this tool, you can export like you did with the Block massing. You can go to export back in the labs, click it and it sends out an FBX that you can use to bring into another 3D program.
