The US definition of BIM - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Revit: Industrialized Construction
The US definition of BIM
- The United States has also started adopting building information modeling as part of its definitive construction workflow and process, and it's saved the US government $2.1 billion in the first three years of adoption. The national BIM standard, NBIMS-US for short, integrates five different US industry guidelines, and it's supported by the pro-standardization group, Build SMART, and other pro-standardization groups. Now, all of this BIM, building information modeling, gives us the foundation for this industrialized construction, such as manufacturing processes being moved into construction, 3D printing, robotics, automating construction processes, prefabrication. The US is also adopting this industrialized construction methodology as part of building information modeling.
