The US definition of BIM
- [Instructor] Up until now I've been discussing the UK adoption of BIM, and how various working methods can allow you to optimize your BIM workflow, especially when using Revit. Now obviously, I'm based in the UK, which is a small little island on the planet. You have a rather larger neighbor of ours across the Atlantic called the United States of America. Now, what is the United States' definition of BIM, Building Information Modeling? Well, they have a National BIM Standard, which is called NBIM-US. And what it does is it integrates five different US industry guidelines. I won't bore you with those, you can go and look up NBIM-US on Google or whichever search engine you're using and you will be able to look up all those different industry guidelines and work out whether they apply to you and your particular BIM workflow.
