Understanding context ribbons

- In this video I want to talk about two critical user interface elements, context ribbon tabs and the options bar. Now what these two elements have in common is that both of them will change frequently as you're working in the software depending on the actual context of whatever it is you're doing. So if you're modifying an element the context will change one way versus if you're creating new elements it might change another way. And what you want to get in the habit of doing is always paying attention to the way the interface changes so that you can see what options are available to you at any given time. So to start off with, let's talk about the context ribbon, and I'm going to focus on the modify tab. So if we click on the modify tab, everything you see here is its default state. So starting at the left and working over toward the right we have a properties panel, a clipboard panel, geometry, modify, view, measure and create.
