- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about backward compatibility and Revit file formats. So if you search for backward compatibility in Revit on Google, it'll come up with this article first and if you kind of browse through this article, it's pretty straightforward. Term backward compatibility in Revit involves two distinct features, the ability of new versions to open older ones and the ability to save in an older version. So it says that Revit is designed to automatically upgrade older data when it's retrieved by the new version. However, Revit is designed to not to be able to save to previous versions. So what this means for you is it is not possible for you to save back to a previous version.
